Principal's Message...

As another week draws to a close, we extend our warmest congratulations to our Kapa Haka group for their outstanding and heartfelt performance at Wednesday night's Inauguration Ceremony. We are incredibly proud of their talent and grateful to Vic Forrest and Ange for their dedicated support.

This week, the weather was on our side, allowing us to successfully complete our Athletics sports. A huge congratulations to all students who participated!

As the end of the year approaches, we kindly remind our whānau about the importance of supporting our ākonga in wearing their uniform with pride, which includes appropriate black footwear. While we understand some items may be nearing the end of their life, it is crucial that we collectively uphold our high uniform expectations.

During terms 1 and 4, it is also a uniform requirement for students to bring a hat for break times and PE. Unfortunately, we've noticed several students without hats. We kindly request that students have a black or navy hat that can be kept in their bag for school use. Bucket hats can also be purchased at the school office for $12

Finally, one of OIS's core values is to 'Act with Respect.' This principle extends to how we conduct ourselves both within school and in our wider community. Recently, we've observed instances of inappropriate language in the playground and community. Please take a moment to discuss with your child the importance of respectful language and how to demonstrate respect in all aspects of their lives.

Have an enjoyable long weekend.
