Principal's Message...
Our Purpose: To prepare students to be active participants who will contribute to their community.
Tēnā koutou katoa, Malo e lelei, Talofa lava, Bula vinaka
A huge thank you to everyone who joined our students for Learning Conversations yesterday. It was a fantastic day filled with focused discussions on student learning and progress, and there was a wonderful, positive energy as people departed.
Taking the time to meet with classroom teachers sends a powerful message to your child about your commitment to their education and success at O.I.S. These interactions are vital for fostering the strong home-school partnerships that lead to the best outcomes for our students.
For those whānau unable to attend due to illness or other conflicts, please reach out to your child's teacher to schedule a time once you are able. Every student is expected to participate in a Learning Conversation involving both their whānau and their teacher.
We appreciate your support in allowing us to dedicate a full day to these meetings. We find that this format is far more beneficial for student outcomes and staff well-being than spreading sessions across multiple evenings.
Good luck to our chess team, who are heading away to Dunedin on Saturday to play chess.
Quiz Night
Don't forget our upcoming quiz night next Friday! We would love to see you there—please gather a team and join us for this R18 event. Lots of raffles and prizes to be won!
