As we move into Week 7, there is a wonderful buzz of curiosity across the school as our science rotations continue. Students are engaged in exploring the scientific process through hands-on experiments focused on the human body. They are visiting each class in the school as each teacher teaches a different part/system of the human body.
It was a wonderful feeling at the event centre on Wednesday night, with a number of teams enjoying playing games at the new centre. Thank you to all of our coaches and managers who support the teams. A reminder that if you are spectating, you need to be around the outside of the stadium or upstairs. The middle of the courts is reserved for players and the coaching staff of the playing teams only.
Following our Board meeting on Monday night, we have accepted Damian Brown's resignation. We want to formally thank Damian for his service and the contribution he has made to the OIS Board of Trustees during his tenure.
Last week, I wrote a reminder in the newsletter about ensuring that sports fees have been paid. Please make contact with us regarding your child’s outstanding sports fees if there is a problem.
Our Learning Conversations are scheduled for next Thursday, 4 June. Please ensure you have booked a time to attend, as it is vital that students are part of these discussions with their teacher. We appreciate your support in keeping your child home on that day. The booking system is now closed, but just contact the office to make an appointment ph: 437 0822.
We are hosting a Quiz Night, Friday 16 June, to support our Year 8 EOTC programme. We encourage you to show your support by entering a team (R18 event). We would also greatly appreciate any donations for prizes, such as vouchers or products. Please send these to the office. Thank you for your support!
Have a safe and enjoyable long weekend
