"The Food Room Buzz"
"Step into the Food Room and follow your nose! Between the sizzle of the pans and the hum of teamwork, our students are busy whisking up masterpieces and mastering the art of the kitchen."
As part of our Global Street Food theme, our Year 8 Food Technology students began prototyping and testing their very own healthy beef burgers from scratch. They worked through the full design process by baking homemade sesame buns and using smart cooking methods to prove that street food can be both nutritious and seriously tasty!
This week in our Friday Technology Enrichment programme, students watched chef Mark Townsend (That Food Guy) demonstrate how to make Eggs Benedict while explaining the science behind a perfect hollandaise sauce. Afterwards, they headed to their own stations to put those lessons into practice, making their own crumpets from scratch and mastering the chemistry of egg cookery firsthand….with amazing results!!!
